Cleaning or blasting marine growth from structures involves challenging cleaning processes, demanding innovative methods. Tamboritha has designed, developed and constructed environmentally friendly cleaning and marine growth removal tooling operated by ROV.
Hydraulic Drum Brush Technology
Tamboritha’s articulated hydraulic drum brushes have been designed for bulk marine growth removal. The technology has been developed to be mounted onto a Work class or Light Work class ROV, using a reaction arm to create a physical yoke. The drums are bi-directionally controllable and rotate up to 320rpm.
Smaller brushes can be provided to access restricted areas closer to physical appurtenances and vertical diagonal braces of structures. ROV ‘docking’ to a structure can be facilitated by contact guide frame and suction foot, powered from the ROV.
Cavitation Water Blaster
The latest technology in asset cleaning is designed to be mounted onto the manipulators of our Workclass and Light Workclass ROVs. Tamboritha’s cavitation water blaster operates at lower pressures and flow rates, typically <2500 psi at 25 lt/min to achieve exceptionally low damage cleaning results.
High Pressure Water Blaster / Wand
Dynaflow High Pressure Water blaster (1500 psi) is powered from by a deck mounted machine. The high pressure water blaster head is provisioned with single and multiple straight jets (sized to accommodate flow and pressure options) AND best available rotary nozzles rates for system pressure or higher flow. In all cases the nozzles are rated for the delivery pressure and mounted in a custom designed manipulator mounted multi head jetting wand.

Flail Cleaning Tool
Tamboritha’s Flail Cleaning Tool has been designed to be mounted onto the manipulator of a Work class or Light Work class ROV. The flails are easy to change out which reduces maintenance time and also provides a method to change out the flail dependent on the type of marine growth to be cleaned, (hard or soft), the level of cleaning required and the material to be cleaned.
The flails are ideal for cleaning prior to CP measurement, connection of Anode Clamps, anode depletion assessment, FMD yoke installation, riser clamp inspection and bulk marine growth cleaning applications.
